Baby Things

Tyler's mom arrived last Tuesday and we've been having a lot of fun looking at baby things. Grandma Folkman was super sweet and purchased all of the bedding for our little guy's room, as well as the leather rocker/recliner I had my eye on at Costco! Our little baby is going to be living in style thanks to his awesome grandparents! I'll have to take pictures of his room so you can see how everything looks together.

We also stopped by the Britax "Expect Greatness National Tour" in Pasadena. We won some sweet prizes: ez-cling window shades, a stroller organizer, a head and body support pillow, and two tickets to see What to Expect When You're Expecting. I participated in a trivia game and got second place. First place got a car seat, so that would have been awesome, but we still left with some nice prizes. They were also having a sale on their BOB strollers...which if you remember from an earlier post, is the stroller I have been thinking about getting. So, we couldn't pass up the deal and we bought it.
The stroller from Right Start -- yes, we got the orange one

So now, I think we officially have all the big ticket items we want except the car seat (and I was so close to winning one!).
According to the baby on the side of this post I have 103 days left before our baby is born. Woo-hoo! But then again...100 days is a long time! I can't wait for him to be here already and for my pregnancy symptoms to go away!
Last week my friend Erica had to take her twin babies in to get their 6 month shots. I went with her to help her out. It was probably the saddest thing ever. But they did really well and by the time we got their bottles all ready to go they stopped crying and fell asleep a little while later. However, I was holding Benson while Tenley got her shots and was trying to get him to stop crying and it was like my little baby could tell I was holding Benson and he wasn't too happy about it. He kept kicking right at Benson and he wasn't being gentle about it. But, when I would hold Tenley, he seemed OK with it and calmed down. I know when babies are first born they don't do a whole lot on purpose by themselves, but I swear my baby is jealous of Benson and kicks at him. :) It happened last Sunday when I was holding Benson during Sunday School too.
Last night while I was trying to sleep I had the weirdest sensation. It felt like I could feel his heartbeat really close to my belly button. I couldn't figure out why his heart would be beating right there and so strong that I could feel it through my skin and everything else. I decided maybe it wasn't his heart beat but maybe hiccups? It went on for about half an hour and had a steady rhythm the entire time. It's so strange feeling things going on inside of you but having no idea what is really happening. I'm really excited for my ultrasound on Thursday! Hopefully he'll be moving around like he usually is so I can see what he's doing inside of me.

  1. Wow... Sounds like lots and fun and a baby shopping frenzy. I'm sure Tyler will be taking the baby out running in that neat looking stroller. Looking forward to seeing how cute the baby room is coming along. And especially looking forward to seeing the next set of ultra sound pics. I think we are all getting excited to meet this little guy. Amy the gal that does my nails is from vietnam and said you will have a happy baby. Apparently Sept, Boy and 2012 means happy. Who would of guest!
